I have a true love for vintage kitchens. I dream of some day having a true vintage/retro kitchen of my own. I browse through the internet a lot and love to sit there for hours and just look at pictures of 1950's kitchens. Those are my favorite ones. With that said, I would like to share some of my pictures that I have collected, most of these you can find on my Vintage Life Network site. But here are a few that I'd like to share on my blog with you all. ENJOY!
These are just a few from my collection, but if you'd like to see more check them out directly from my 1950's Vintage Kitchen album at Vintage Life Network.

ReplyDeleteI Love it! :O) I'm a sucker for Retro Kitchens and 1950's Housewives! I'd love it if I were a 1950's Wife!
ReplyDeleteLove 1950s retro!
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased a house that was built in 1915 and only had 2 owners on record. The 2nd owner on record lived in the house for over 75 years and passed away in 2010 at the ripe old age of 98. Her children, now in their 70s, sold the house to me. The house hasn't been updated in years; however, it would seem the kitchen has undergone some updating. The kitchen has blue paneling, blue wallpaper, and linoleum floors. The cabinets and countertops appear to have been updated in the late 70s. I also have a pantry and I cannot figure out what period it is. In fact, I am trying to find out if the countertops in my pantry are Formica.
I have spent most of my Easter Sunday morning surfing the web for retro kitchen ideas which is how I stumbled upon this blog. Love it! It is nice to see I am not the only one who loves retro kitchens and 1950s housewives. As a die-hard fan of Mad Men, now more than ever I am craving a retro kitchen. My friends think I should gut the entire kitchen/pantry and go with stainless and granite. Well the last 4 homes I lived in, the kitchens were stainless and granite. Quite frankly, I am sick of it. Rather than gut my kitchen and do what everyone else is doing, I would prefer to preserve and freshen up my kitchen.
I too have a blog. However, it's pretty lame; in fact, I blogged this morning about my pantry countertops. I would love it if someone could confirm for me that my countertops are Formica. Would any of you mind going to my blog (I assure you this isn't a lame attempt to gain more traffic), view the photos I posted and let me know if in fact I have Formica countertops? Please??? I would be in your debt. Thank you.
